Primary Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease with Mediterranean Diet + VIDEO

Hear what Dr. Robert Woodbury has to say about the new study “Primary Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease with Mediterranean Diet” published by The New England Journal of Medicine.

The diet compared the standard Western diet vs. the Mediterranean diet supplemented with extra-virgin olive oil and nuts.

Outcome: In conclusion, in this primary prevention trial, it was observed that an energy-unrestricted Mediterranean diet, supplemented with extra-virgin olive oil and nuts, resulted in a substantial reduction in the risk of major cardiovascular events among high-risk persons. The results support the benefits of the Mediterranean diet for the primary prevention of cardiovascular disease.
